ABOUT OUR CLUB
The Detroit Gun Club has been at its current location since 1953. It is, without a doubt, one of the finest shooting facilities in the country.
The Detroit Gun Club has 8 registered skeet fields, 8 registered trap fields, 2 8 machine 5 – Stands and a 14 station (4 machines per station) sporting clay course, that features 4 different course styles. We have a full bar and restaurant in our 3,500 square foot clubhouse, and we have a professional & personable wait staff.
OUR STAFF
Manager Scott Behnke has been in the gun club business for over 36 years. He has been a State Director for sporting clays. He sat on the National Steering Committee for sporting clays and is the chief referee for skeet in the State of Michigan.
He hosts the referee and cashier clinic for the state of Michigan and runs the Michigan Hall of Fame for the Michigan Skeet Association which is housed at the club. His wife Debbie, is the kitchen manager and does all of our book keeping. She is also in charge of the Detroit Gun Club website.
More than anything, the Detroit Gun Club is known for it’s excellent staff. Orr trap help is very knowledgeable and eager to please.
Our wait staff and counter help are very personable and outgoing.
ABOUT OUR FIELDS AND COURSES:
OUR SKEET FIELD
Our skeet fields at the DGC are second to none. Our machines are top of the line Superstars with 300 target carousels. Our skeet tournaments set the standards for other gun clubs across the country. They are run with professional cashiers and referees.
OUR SPORTING CLAY COURSE
Our sporing clay course is a paved mile long trail winding through pines and hardwoods. It includes 14 stations with 4 machines per station. We offer 4 course options, Blue, Green, Orange and Red. These options range in different levels of difficulty to accommodate all shooters. We have a 60 ft. tower, elevated shooting stands, as well as elevated throwing platforms. Our course runs on a state of the art wireless electronic E-Z Pull system. We are constantly changing our course to keep it exciting for our members.
ABOUT OUR DINING ROOM
Our kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner along with enticing daily specials. Personal dinner requests are always accommodated. We also have a full bar and generous wine list. Our kitchen hosts dinner and cocktail parties for large tournaments that host as many as 300 guests.
PRIVATE PARTIES
Members of the DGC are welcome to host their business or personal events at the club. Events hosting 15 or more must be scheduled on our “off” days. Parties can be strictly shooting, dining, or both. For more information and fees, please contact the club.
SPECIAL EVENTS/CHARITY SHOOTS:
The Detroit Gun Club is proud to hose special events for many charities such as the Boy Scouts of America, Salvation Army, Child Help, Cystic Fibrosis, and Reel & smoke ( The Bob Woodruff Foundation). We are proud to say that we have raised approximately $350,000.00 for these charities per year.

ABOUT OUR ACCOUNTING
Members of the Detroit Gun Club are entitled to a “house charge” system, meaning they are allowed to charge any of their shooting (registration for the tournaments excluded), pro shop items, dining room tabs and gratuities and will be billed monthly. It is required by the club that you spend $50.00 (shooting or dining every three months or you will be billed a $50.00 minimum).
YOUR MEMBERSHIP
Your membership is a family membership. It includes you, your spouse, and your children up to age 24.
GUEST PRIVILEGES
Guests must be accompanied by a member. He/She can only use their privilege once a month. Members are responsible for guests tabs and safety etiquette at the club.
NSSA/NSCA REGISTERED TOURNAMENTS
We offer the largest schedule of Registered Tournament Events in both skeet and sporting clays. This allows our membership to be a casual shooting member or a “full blown” tournament shooter.
Tournament schedules are posted on both our club calendar and our website. If you choose not to participate in a registered shoot on that given day you may come and enjoy the club for dining and limited shooting (No trap on skeet shoots, only 1 practice field open on skeet shoots, sporting clay always open).
